Perfect Imperfection

Read

Ephesians 2:10, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

Think

“God uses crooked sticks to hit straight licks.”

Whether we admit it or not, at some point we’ve all thought, “There’s no way God can use me.” We look at our past mistakes, bad decisions, and failures and we convince ourselves: “God can’t use someone like me.”

But you know who isn’t convinced of that? GOD! No matter how much you think you’ve messed up, God can use you. Because God can use anyone to carry out his purpose.

Look at some of the people he used throughout the Bible: drunkards, murderers, adulterers, liars. And those were the “spiritual giants” like Abraham, Moses, David, and Paul!

If God can use them, he can certainly use you. Don’t allow the evil one to convince you otherwise.

At Fellowship Church we have a saying: “NO PERFECT PEOPLE ALLOWED.” The fact is, none of us are perfect. But the great news is that we serve a perfect Savior who wants to, and can, use us for his purpose.

Act

Write down your “imperfections.” What do you think is disqualifying you from being used by God? Now tear the paper up! Because the reality is, God can use you no matter what!

Pray

God, I am far from perfect, but I know that you can use me for your purposes when I trust in you and obey your word. Help me to see that truth and apply it to my life.
