Colossians 2:10, “So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.”

If you have ever had the feeling that you are “not enough,” you aren’t alone. It’s more common than ever in a social media society full of filtered highlight reels. These images and posts can cause a serious comparison storm and leave us feeling incomplete and lacking. We convince ourselves that if we get that car, house, person, or money, we will finally be 100% complete. We will have enough. We will be enough.

In today’s verse, Paul was writing to a group who had fallen into a similar trap. They were being told that their decision to follow Jesus wasn’t enough to make them right with God. The religious leaders of the day were commanding them to practice religious rituals and follow countless rules so they could measure up. But the religious leaders missed the whole point of who Jesus Christ was. Believing in Him was all they needed to be fully accepted by God. There was nothing left to do because everything had already been done. Jesus had already bridged the gap between them and God. They just needed to choose, by faith, to walk across the bridge that had already been built for them.

We could spend the rest of our lives trying to do everything right in God’s eyes and it still wouldn’t be enough. Fortunately, Jesus is always enough! He is above all. Jesus completes us 100%.

Write down the areas of your life where you feel like you don’t measure up, areas where you continue to strive to be “good enough.” With a red marker at the top, write JESUS! When you begin struggling with these insecurities, let this be a reminder to stop because Jesus in you is more than any insecurity the enemy wants you to bow to. He covers all!

Heavenly Father, thank You for being more than enough in my life and making me enough through Your Son, Jesus. Sometimes I struggle with feeling like I’m not good enough. In those moments, remind me that I don’t have to be because You are! In Jesus’ name, Amen!
