1 Thessalonians 5:18, “…give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
So often we reserve thankfulness for a specific season of the year, or even just a single day. Thankfulness, though, is something God wants us to live out every day. He knows that when we reflect thankfulness and gratitude, that we will discover one of the biggest keys to a life of joy. It’s all about where we direct our thanks and what we do to live it out.
As you go through your day, are you reflecting the kind of thankfulness and gratitude God wants you to? Think about a time when you truly reflected thanks for all God has given you—not just around Thanksgiving Day, but regular times throughout the year. Think about how that attitude of gratitude left an indelible impression not only on those around you, but also in your own perspective as well. Make sure you are living out that kind of gratitude every day!
To be thankful for something, we have to acknowledge it. But so often, there are things we should be grateful for that we take for granted. Start this day by making a list of 25 things you can be thankful for. You’ll be surprised how easy the list is to create!
Dear Heavenly Father, as I go throughout my days, help me to see all You have blessed me with through Your perspective. Help me to reflect thanks in every situation and on every day. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
