Ecclesiastes 2:24-25, “A person can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in their own toil. This too, I see, is from the hand of God, for without Him who can eat or find enjoyment.”
John 15:11, “I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.”
Have you ever wondered why yawns are contagious? Where do black holes lead to? Where’s the lost city of Atlantis? The world is full of mystery! For some, understanding how to be joyful in the face of hardship is another mystery. Although God, Himself, is mysterious, He didn’t leave us guessing on how to find outrageous, contagious joy in all circumstances.
Although it may seem impossible at times, we can choose to be joyful. Joy is an internal heartfelt pleasure that comes from having a relationship with Jesus. It starts with being thankful for what we have— every little moment. When we focus on and recognize the things that God has already blessed us with, it begins to change our perspective. It reminds us that He is present and He is at work! Having a thankful heart creates a gateway for uncontainable joy in your life!
No matter what comes your way, tap into God’s unexplainable joy. Trust Him to walk with you through your pain and, above all else, give thanks!
Gratitude is the key to looking past our circumstances and finding joy. What are ten things you can thank God for today?
Dear Lord, Thank You! In You my joy is complete in all circumstances. Today, I am thankful for the following ten things ____________. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
