Acts 24:25, “As Paul talked about righteousness, self-control and the judgment to come, Felix was afraid and said, ‘That’s enough for now! You may leave. When I find it convenient, I will send for you.’”
“Convenient may be too late.”
Have you ever been offered something that sounded really good, but then realized it came at a cost? It may have sounded like:
Suddenly, that thing may not sound so good anymore and you end up saying, “Maybe later.”
Don’t be the “maybe later” type of person. Anything worth having, costs something. For example, our relationship with God came at an immeasurable cost to Jesus. But you were worth the price. And God is offering you something great right now – a rich, abundant life here on earth and a treasure-filled eternity in Heaven with him. It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it!
And in the end, when you receive your reward in Heaven, you’ll be happy that you didn’t say, “Maybe later, God.”
Walk in obedience to God’s ways today, knowing that his plans for you are great. Don’t shirk back when the way looks difficult, instead embrace that path and live in hope of what is to come.
Heavenly Father, thank you for the many great things you offer to me in this life. Help me to not shirk away from those great things, but instead to walk confidently into them knowing that your end result will not leave me disappointed. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
