Change Is Tough
Read:
Malachi 3:6a “I the Lord do not change.”
Psalm 33:11 “But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generation.”
Psalm 102:27 “But you remain the same, and your years will never end.”
Think:
Change stinks. It is very difficult, unless you are the one initiating it. Have you ever had to downsize your house and decided to purge items? It is tough! Trying to sift through what is important, what is vital, what memory is irreplaceable is hard. Plus, moving is never smooth, no matter how many times you do it. Your body goes through change-just give it time. If your body doesn't work the way it used to, a change in diet, a exercise regime can be difficult to navigate. You may lose your job and gaze hard at your budget that just won't add up, fear and anxiety will slowly slide into place. Sometimes change isn't just arduous, it is painful.
Whether we like it or not, life evolves. Nothing lasts forever, but God. God doesn't change. He has been and will always be. We serve a God who is with us through the seasons of life. He is with us through the moves, the job changes, the relational shifts, the losses. Our God is a constant anchor.
