Future Plans
Read:
Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Think:
One of the most common questions many ask is, “Does God have a plan for my life?” The answer is “Yes!” But, that plan is not focused on finding the perfect job that fits you best, the house that will fulfill all your dreams, or the ideal spouse with whom you will live happily ever after! First and foremost, God’s plan is for you to trust Him with all your heart. God’s big idea for us is the one thing that gives cohesion to the whole of our lives – our jobs, our relationships, our interests. That big idea is our willingness to trust God in everything.
We can be confident in our life choices when we choose to entrust our lives and plans to God. Our plans always come back to our relationship with God. Do you trust Him or not? Trust is not acting on your own and then giving lip service to God. Trust is asking God for His wisdom and then applying that wisdom to your plans.
Act:
Commit Proverbs 3:5-6 to memory and bring it to mind every time you make an important decision in your life.
Pray:
Heavenly Father, today, I choose to trust You first instead of leaning on my own understanding. I submit my decisions to You, knowing that You will guide me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
