Hold On
Read:
Luke 2:19, “But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.”
Think:
Are you still holding on to Christmas? Christmas carols don’t sound as good after Christmas. Christmas lights seem a little duller after the day, maybe it is just me.
Luke tells us that the shepherds went back to their flocks and fields, makes sense doesn't it? They couldn't stay in the manger in Bethlehem. The sheep needed them. If the shepherds needed to get back to work, I know Mary thought about her little family’s future. When Mary “pondered these things in her heart”, the author Luke is telling us that this is just the beginning. There is more to the story than what had just happened. Although we can’t stay at the manger we can hold on to Christmas. We can join Mary in pondering, thinking and seeking knowing and growing in understanding. We can even join the shepherds in spreading the good news. Tell someone about the Savior that came.
Act:
Today we get to seek and tell. Think about what He has done- He came for you and me. Tell someone about Jesus. As you seek Jesus today, look for Him in the details of your life.
Pray:
Jesus, help me to seek You more, to ”ponder” Your words.
