Is Heaven Real?
Read
2 Corinthians 4:17-18 “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
Think
Have you ever stopped to imagine what heaven will be like? The Bible describes it as a place with no more pain, sorrow, or death (Revelation 21:4), but it’s more than just a place of comfort. Heaven is the dwelling place of God, where we will finally see him face to face. It’s the ultimate fulfillment of everything we long for—perfect peace, joy, and the presence of God himself. Heaven isn’t just a distant dream; it’s the actual reality waiting for those who trust in Christ.
C.S. Lewis captured the beauty of heaven when he wrote, "If I find in myself desires which nothing in this world can satisfy, the only logical explanation is that I was made for another world." Heaven is that "other world" we were made for—our true home. In heaven, all the struggles, pain, and weariness of this life will melt away as we experience the joy of being fully in God’s presence. It’s where we belong, the culmination of every hope and desire we’ve ever had.
Billy Graham once said, "My home is in heaven. I’m just traveling through this world." This simple yet profound statement reminds us that life here is temporary and our ultimate home is with God. Knowing this changes the way we approach life’s challenges. The promise of heaven gives us strength to endure hardship and loss, knowing that these are momentary compared to the eternal joy ahead.
As we look forward to heaven, we can live with purpose and hope, knowing that this life is a journey toward our true home. Heaven shapes not only our future but how we live today. Let the promise of heaven fill your heart with peace as you navigate the ups and downs of life, knowing that a glorious future awaits, in the presence of God.
