Jesus Is Coming
Read
John 14:3 "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am."
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 "For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever."
Think
Have you ever really considered what it means that Jesus is coming back? It’s easy to get lost in the busyness of life and forget this incredible promise. But in John 14:3, Jesus assures us, “I will come back and take you to be with me.” This isn’t just a comforting thought—it’s a guaranteed event. The same Jesus who lived, died, and rose again will return to gather his people and make all things new.
In Pastor Ed Young’s message, When the Levee Breaks, he talked about how life’s trials can feel overwhelming, like a flood threatening to overtake us. But the promise of Jesus’ return gives us hope that transcends our current struggles. His coming will end all pain, suffering, and heartache. The reality of Christ’s return is an anchor that keeps us grounded, reminding us that no matter how difficult life gets, it’s only temporary.
Isaac Watts, a well-known theologian and hymn writer from the 1700s, wrote, “He whose soul is filled with the hope of heaven can walk through any trouble with a smile.” Watts’ words remind us that the return of Jesus fills us with hope that allows us to endure the trials of this world. His return isn’t just an escape from suffering; it’s the beginning of eternal joy and complete restoration in his presence.
So, how should we respond? The promise of Jesus’ return should inspire us to live with hope and urgency. It’s a reminder to keep our eyes on eternity while sharing his love and truth with others. His return isn’t just a future hope—it’s a reality that should transform how we live today. Jesus is coming back, and that changes everything. Are you ready?

Give me the strength to face my challenges confidently, knowing that my struggles are temporary, and fill my heart with love for others so I can share your truth with them. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
