Power of Prayer
Read
Ephesians 6:18 “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep praying for the Lord’s people.”
Think
Now that we are battle ready, what happens? We pray. Christians act differently in a war zone. This is a weapon that no other army has available to them. This weapon brings forces that no enemy can defeat. Prayer is our war strategy. Constant communication in every season of conflict with our Commander ensures a victory.
No matter how complete the armor, no matter how knowledgeable we may be in the study of warfare, without prayer we are certain of defeat. Only God gives the victory. This type of prayer is not a random, intermittent prayer. It is an always, constant prayer. Prayer is not for domestic convenience; it is for wartime. We are not calling room service or the concierge; we are calling down the power of heaven in a war for the souls of men and women.
A famous evangelist, Billy Sunday, once said, “If you are a stranger to prayer, you are a stranger to the greatest source of power known to human beings.”
Apply
God will intervene if I intercede. Today spend time with him. Write down five things that you need to see the hand of God move and talk to him about them.
Pray
Holy Spirit, help me understand that when I pray, I literally bring heaven into my world. I give you my hopes, my fears, my troubles, my joys and my struggles. I trust you. Lead me and guide me in your paths. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
