Significance Over Success
Read:
Exodus 34:5-6 “The Lord descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord. The Lord passed before him and proclaimed, 'The Lord, the Lord, God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness,,,'”
Think:
We've all encountered those individuals who lead introductions with their credentials and titles, proudly displaying their magazine covers and boasting about their accumulated trophies. Let's be honest, it can be quite awkward and cringeworthy. However, let's take a moment to examine how the Creator and Savior of the world chose to introduce himself to Moses on Mount Sinai. The contrast couldn't be more striking.
While achievements and titles certainly have their place, what truly matters is the growth of our compassion, grace, and love. Our journey toward becoming more like God is the essence of true success. It's not about the impressive words written on our business cards or resumes; it's about the transformation happening within us, reflecting his character.
In a world that often places value on external accomplishments, let's remember the example set by Jesus. He emphasizes the significance of inner growth and character development. So, as we navigate life, let's shift our focus from the superficial markers of success and instead strive to embody the qualities that mirror his compassionate, gracious, and loving nature. That's where genuine success lies.

What aspect of God’s character needs to grow in you today? If you find yourself wanting to spout off your accomplishments, take a step back and celebrate someone else. Focusing on others is the best way to find success.
Pray:
Heavenly Father, help me prioritize others and think about myself less. Enable me to seek your desires and lift other people toward you. In Jesus' name, Amen.
