Teammates
Read:
1 Corinthians 12:27 "Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it."
Think:
Have you ever watched a PeeWee football game? It is sort of like watching ants scatter. The little athletes are bewildered, chasing butterflies, watching airplanes, and picking flowers for their moms. They fight over the ball and push each other. The coaches are trying to place them in the positions they want them to play. They distinctly guide the players toward the goal line when they head in the wrong direction. They verbally steer them to work together, but it doesn't make a difference. It is chaos.
The Church can sometimes be a little like the PeeWee team when we don't listen to our coach and focus on crossing the goal line. It can be a debacle if we do not work together. As individuals, we all have unique gifts and talents, but we must cheer each other on. We are the body of Christ, and we are teammates called to work in unity as we reach others to be on the same team. We should walk in harmony, everyone playing his or her role in getting the gospel of Jesus Christ out to the lost world.

As we serve in our local church this week, be reminded that there is a bigger picture. Encourage your teammates. See the value in each other. Ignite someone's serving spark today! And if you’re not currently serving, now is the time to join the team. Your gifts will make your church stronger!
Pray:
Jesus, thank you for granting me unique gifts and talents that I get to use for your honor and glory. Thank you for purposing me to serve in the church. Help me value my teammates, as we are all needed to function in the body of Christ. Amen.
