Culture of Noise
Read:
James 3:13 “Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.”
Think:
We find ourselves immersed in a culture of talk, where everyone holds an opinion and desires to be heard. Social media platforms have given voice to the masses, and there is a pervasive notion that one must contribute his "two cents" on every matter. There is an inclination to seek opportunities to stand in front of cameras or microphones to make our voices known. While communication is undoubtedly valuable, the essence of the message is lost if it is not accompanied by a consistent way of living.
Perhaps today, it is essential to step away from the noise of social media and dedicate time to be in the presence of God. Take a moment to encourage yourself and realign your purpose according to his Word. Your actions and words should harmonize, forming a cohesive testimony. Your mission is not found within the confines of social media feeds; rather, it lies within the pages of the Bible. Your mission is to embody and live out the teachings of the Scriptures, and this mission is distinctively tailored to you.
Apply:
Cancel the noise by spending time with Jesus. Turn off your phone, your TV, and talk to him.
Pray:
Father, speak to me; I want to hear your voice. I want to participate in your mission and reach people for your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.
