Discernment
Read
Psalm 37:5-6 “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will do this: he will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.”

Decisions can feel heavy, can’t they? Whether it’s navigating your own choices or leading others, the weight of doing the “right thing” can leave you feeling uncertain or overwhelmed. Psalm 37:5-6 offers reassurance: “Commit your way to the Lord.” Discernment begins when you stop trying to carry it all on your own and instead roll every plan, fear, and decision onto the One who knows the way forward.
This truth becomes even more powerful in the context of leadership. Whether you’re leading your family, a team, or a ministry, the decisions you make ripple into the lives of others. That’s why it’s essential to seek God’s guidance—not just for clarity, but for the humility and courage to follow where he leads. Leadership isn’t about having all the answers; it’s about being anchored to the One who does.
At the same time, it’s vital to pray for those who lead the church. Their decisions shape how God’s people are equipped to grow in their faith and reach the world for Christ. Pray for your pastors and ministry leaders to have wisdom, boldness, and power. As A.W. Tozer wrote, “God is looking for people through whom he can do the impossible.” When leaders rely on God, he works through them to accomplish far more than they could ever imagine.
What decisions or burdens are you carrying today? Are you praying for discernment for yourself and for those leading the church? Discernment doesn’t mean having everything figured out—it means trusting the One who does. Commit your way to God. Surrender your plans, trust him with the unknown, and lift up those leading his people.
