Matthew 14:28-29 “’Lord, if it’s you,’ Peter replied, ‘tell me to come to you on the water.’ ‘Come,’ he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus."

"Living in the zone means embracing the fullness of life that God intends for us, marked by purpose, passion, and divine power." – Pastor Ed Young
I’ll never forget the first time I heard the story of Peter stepping out of the boat to walk on water. It struck me differently, not because of the miracle but because of Peter’s faith. He left the safety of the boat, stepping into the unknown with his eyes fixed on Jesus. For a moment, he experienced something extraordinary—living fully in the power and purpose of God. That story made me wonder: how often do I stay in the boat, missing the life God has for me because I’m afraid to step out?
God created us for more than just survival. He made us to thrive, to live lives marked by purpose and passion, fueled by his power. A.W. Tozer said it perfectly: “God is looking for people through whom he can do the impossible—what a pity that we plan only the things we can do by ourselves.” How often do we settle for routines that drain us instead of embracing the fullness of life God offers?
The truth is, living in the zone means stepping out of our comfort zones and into God’s plans. It means trusting him to provide the strength, guidance, and power we need. Like Peter, we’re called to keep our eyes on Jesus, even when the waves feel overwhelming.
So, what about you? Are you staying in the boat, clinging to what feels safe, or are you ready to step out in faith? God’s power is waiting to fuel your life with meaning and joy beyond anything you can imagine.

Take a step of faith. Identify one area in your life where you feel God is calling you to step out of your comfort zone, serving in your church, tithing, or sharing your faith.
Pray
Lord, thank you for calling me to step out in faith and experience the fullness of life you have designed for me. Help me to trust you completely, letting go of fear and keeping my eyes fixed on Jesus. Fill me with your purpose, passion, and power as I walk in obedience to your will. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
