Romans 8:5 “Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.”

When describing the battle inside of himself, an elderly Christian man said, “It’s like a black dog fighting a white dog.” “Which dog wins?” asked his pastor. The man replied, “The one I feed the most.”
In life, every choice, every decision, is woven from our will and thoughts. This understanding underscores the paramount importance of enveloping our minds with vigilant "gatekeepers" or filters (Philippians 4:7), safeguarding our inner minds. Within the framework of God's purpose for us, the very fulfillment of his plan hinges on the decisions and choices we make.
In this intricate interplay, our minds serve as the epicenter from which all our actions emanate. It naturally follows that establishing a protective hedge around our thoughts becomes essential – a measure to shield and nurture our deeds. The outcomes of our choices and decisions mirror the inputs we allow into our hearts and minds. To ensure godly outcomes, we must diligently fill our inner reservoirs with biblical nourishment.
Safeguarding the heart and mind is an encompassing role, like gatekeepers fending off foes. Just as one would fortify a fortress against impending threats, so must we fortify our hearts against detrimental forces. By meticulously filtering out negativity and ungodly influences, we shape an environment conducive to virtuous decisions and righteous choices.
