Read
Ephesians 6:10-11 “A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.”
Think
Ever played "Two Truths and a Lie" at a party? It's that game where you share two true things about yourself and slip in one cleverly disguised falsehood. The key to winning is making the lie blend seamlessly with the truth – not too over the top, just normal enough to be convincing. Oddly enough, our minds play a similar game with us, but it's not all fun and games; it's a battlefield of deception and lies orchestrated by the enemy.
Discerning the truth in our thoughts becomes a constant game of "Truth vs Lies." The enemy excels at weaving lies that seem right, that feel normal. It's a challenge to navigate this mental maze and distinguish reality from deception.
But here's the game-changer for us, especially if we're Christ-followers: we possess the ultimate truth. Armed with the truth of Jesus, we become a force to be reckoned with, a threat to the devil's schemes. While he may not touch our eternity, he can certainly wreak havoc on our earthly lives if we give him an inch. He aims to render us ineffective for the kingdom of God, and his weapon of choice is the lies that infiltrate our minds.
Here's the incredible news – we have Jesus on our side. We have his truth, and the Word of God acts as a powerful spotlight, exposing the dark lies the enemy tries to spread. These lies, if left unchecked, can shackle us in fear and hinder our effectiveness for God's kingdom.
So, what's our strategy? For every lie that sneaks into our minds, we combat it with Scripture. The Word of God becomes our weapon, our defense against the enemy's attempts to distort reality. As we arm ourselves with the truth, we can confidently face the lies that seek to entangle us.
In this game of "Truth vs Lies," we stand firmly on the side of truth – the truth that sets us free, the truth that dispels darkness. Let Jesus' light expose every lie, and may his Word be our steadfast guide in the ongoing battle for our minds.
