Give It to God

Exodus 2:2-3 “She became pregnant and gave birth to a son. When she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him for three months. But when she could hide him no longer, she got a papyrus basket for him and coated it with tar and pitch. Then she placed the child in it and put it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile.”

Helen Keller said, “Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through the experiences of trials and suffering can we be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition inspired and strength revealed.”
In Exodus 1 and 2, Pharaoh's ruthless decree ordered the execution of Jewish baby boys by the hands of midwives. Against this backdrop, Jochebed, Moses' mother, embodied two formidable powers: unselfish love and unwavering faith in God.
In the face of danger, Jochebed chose faith over fear, navigating the perilous Nile River's dangerous currents and lurking crocodiles. Her trust in the God of Abraham and Isaac outweighed the uncertainties. Aware that her baby's cries could attract Pharaoh's soldiers, she anchored her trust in God's goodness and sovereignty.
God's intricate plan unfolded in a pivotal moment. The Egyptian princess, while bathing, heard baby Moses' cries, orchestrated by the divine hand. The pagan princess's heart was moved by God, and in this divine convergence, the rescuer of Israel grew up within the palace walls. Jochebed, by surrendering her fears to God, became a vessel for the exodus and rescue of God's people.
The timeless wisdom of Theodore Roosevelt resonates: "Do what you can with what you have, where you are." Despite pain and adversity, God positions us to trust him and be catalysts for his divine plan. In the midst of your unique circumstances, know that God has strategically placed you, ready to use your faith and resilience for his purpose.

Emulate Jochebed's unwavering trust in God amidst uncertainties. Choose faith over fear in challenging situations (Isaiah 41:10, Psalm 56:3) and share your testimony of God's faithfulness to inspire and strengthen someone else's faith (1 Peter 3:15, Matthew 5:16).
Pray
God, you orchestrate events according to your plans. Help me to trust you and see your goodness and purposes in spite of the situations and circumstances. Empower me to obediently follow your lead, even when the path ahead seems unclear. In Jesus' name. Amen.
