How Do We Fit In All This?
Read
Colossians 1:16 "For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him."
Think
Have you ever wondered, "Why did God make me?" It's a question that touches the core of our existence. We are created to glorify God and enjoy him forever. We are part of his grand design, each uniquely made to reflect his glory. As Ephesians 2:10 says, "For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
Charles Spurgeon beautifully captures this purpose when he says, “It is a great thing to begin life with a sense of the divine purpose. It will save us from a thousand pitfalls if we are able to say, ‘The Lord has created me for himself, and I am his.’” Spurgeon reminds us that understanding our place in God's plan gives our lives direction and meaning. We are not here by accident but to fulfill a divine purpose.
On a lighter note, someone once humorously said, "Why am I here? I don't know. Maybe because I haven’t been there yet." While funny, this quote can remind us that our life and purpose are intentional. God has a specific place and role for each of us, even if sometimes it feels like we’re just figuring it out as we go along.
So, why did God make you? He made you to be part of his story, to live out a unique role in his divine plan. Embrace your purpose by seeking God daily, asking him to reveal how you can glorify him in your everyday life. As Jeremiah 29:11 assures us, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Trust that God has a specific and beautiful purpose for your life.
