Sacrifice

Mark 10:45 “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Think
Did you know that generosity doesn’t just bless others; it changes you? Studies show that giving activates the brain’s reward center, filling you with joy and a deeper sense of purpose. That’s not a coincidence—it’s by design. We were created to give because we’re made in the image of the ultimate Giver, Jesus Christ.
In Mark 10:45, Jesus doesn’t just talk about sacrifice—he lives it. He didn’t come to demand service or live in comfort. Instead, he came to serve and give his life for others. His entire mission was one of selflessness, driven by love. Jesus’ example shows us that true sacrifice isn’t about loss—it’s about offering what we have for a greater purpose, knowing it can make an eternal difference.
And now, Jesus calls us to follow his lead. As Missionary Jim Elliot said, "He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose." Sacrifice invites us to let go of what is temporary and trust God with what we’ve been given. It may cost us something—our time, energy, or resources—but the reward is far greater. Every act of generosity reflects the heart of Jesus and brings hope and restoration to others.
What’s one way you can reflect Jesus’ sacrifice today? Maybe it’s trusting him by giving financially to your church, knowing your generosity helps others discover him. Or perhaps it’s offering your time to serve someone who needs encouragement or support. Whatever it is, ask God to help you step out in faith and live with open hands.
Sacrifice is never easy, but it changes everything. When you follow Jesus’ example, you’re not just giving—you’re becoming more like him, and that’s a life that leaves an eternal impact.

Pray
God, thank you for giving everything for me through Jesus’ sacrifice. Teach me to reflect your generosity in my life.
