The Significance of Believer's Baptism
Read:
Matthew 3:16-17 "As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment, heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, ‘This is my Son, whom I love; with him, I am well pleased.’"
Think:
Baptism often confuses many who have been sprinkled with water as babies. Although it's a beautiful act for parents to dedicate their children to God, the Bible emphasizes believer's baptism. This is the act of obedience we take after deciding to follow Jesus. Baptism by immersion is how every person in the Bible, including Jesus, demonstrated his faith. This act illustrates the gospel message as we die to our "old self" and rise again to a new life in Christ. This image vividly represents the transformation happening within us and is a time of profound celebration here and in heaven!

If you have accepted Christ but have yet to declare your faith through baptism publicly, this could be the moment to take that leap of faith!
Pray:
Jesus, I thank you for being my perfect example. Please give me the courage to take the next step on the path you have laid before me. I am thankful for the opportunity to declare my love and devotion to you publicly. In Jesus' name. Amen.
