True King In A Divided World
Read
Isaiah 9:7 "Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this."

In today’s world, politics often feels like a battlefield. It's easy to get caught up in the belief that our hope and future rest in the hands of a particular party, candidate, or leader. Every election feels like a make-or-break moment. But amid the chaos, it's crucial to remember where our true hope lies – not in any political figure, but in Jesus, the King of Kings, who reigns over all. As John Wesley once said, "I have never known more than fifteen minutes of anxiety or fear. Whenever I feel fearful emotions overtaking me, I just close my eyes and thank God that he is still on the throne, reigning over everything, and I take comfort in his control over all the affairs of my life."
Wesley’s words remind us that, while politics may be unpredictable, God’s sovereignty remains constant. Political systems rise and fall, leaders come and go, but God's Kingdom stands forever. Jesus didn’t come to establish an earthly political reign but to bring a Kingdom where love, justice, and mercy rule. That’s where our true allegiance belongs.
It's easy to feel anxious or divided in a heated political climate. But as Christians, our citizenship is first in God’s Kingdom, not tied to any earthly party or nation. Knowing this truth can bring peace, allowing us to approach political matters without fear, trusting that no election will ever dethrone the King of kings. So, while we engage, vote, and advocate, let’s rest in the assurance that our true King reigns and his Kingdom is unshakable.

Pray
Heavenly Father, thank you for being in control, even when the world feels chaotic. Help me trust you and find peace, knowing you are always in charge. Guide me as I engage with the world, and give me wisdom to honor you in all that I do. In Jesus' name. Amen.
