What Would Jesus Say To Caitlyn Jenner: We Show Grace
Read:
Colossians 4:6 “Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.”
Think:
Some things are easier said than done, aren’t they? When we are at odds with someone, or we disagree with them, it’s natural for our words to become harsh and judgmental. However, this verse in Colossians reminds us that our words should be "full of grace" – not just a little grace, not sprinkled with grace, but overflowing with grace. In other words, the bulk of our words should reflect God’s love toward the person with whom we are conversing.
We are to be people of truth with grace-filled words. People who choose to speak words of healing and help. Because whether we realize it or not, believers and unbelievers alike are listening intently to the words we speak. Our words testify to the kind of relationship we have with Jesus and the kind of effect he has had on our hearts. With Jesus help, we speak the way of grace because we have experienced his grace. We are given the opportunity to be ambassadors of Jesus with our words and actions.
