What Would Jesus Say to Joe Rogan: Find Joy in Jesus
Read:
Proverbs 17:22 “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”
Psalm 16:11 “You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”
Think:
Joe Rogan is a comedian who has made millions of people laugh over the years. He has a gift for finding humor in the ordinary and the absurd, and his wit and humor have earned him a large following.
As much as we enjoy laughing and being entertained, we know that true joy cannot be found in humor alone. In fact, the Bible tells us that our joy comes from the Lord. The joy that comes from God is not fleeting, like the pleasure we might experience from a joke or a funny story. Rather, it is deep and lasting, rooted in our relationship with God and the hope we have in Christ. As we spend time in God's presence, we are filled with his joy and peace, and we experience a sense of fulfillment that cannot be found elsewhere.
As Joe Rogan continues to make people laugh and bring joy into their lives, we must remember that God is the source of all joy. We can ask God to help us find joy in all aspects of our lives, and to show us how to share that joy with others.
Apply:
Memorize Proverbs 17:22 and play it on “repeat” in your mind. Do something enjoyable today. Laugh!
Pray:
Dear Lord, we thank you for the joy that comes from knowing and serving you. Help us to find joy in all aspects of our lives, and to share that joy with others. In Jesus' name, Amen.
